Analysis on the future trend of military packaging (Part 1)
Abstract: in the military logistics revolution, packaging, as an important factor of logistics science, has six main directions for its future development. First, the transportation of military materials is developing towards containerization and matching; Second, pay attention to the development and application of new packaging technologies and materials; Third, information technology will be widely used in military packaging; Fourth, comprehensive protective packaging will be the focus of future development; Fifth, pay attention to the development and application of functional materials; Sixth, military material packaging is developing towards low cost and high efficiency
key words: supporting information technology functional materials
driven by the new technological revolution, the trend of battlefield digitalization is coming rapidly, and logistics support methods and support methods are facing severe challenges. As an important factor in logistics science and the cornerstone of logistics system, packaging plays an important role in this military logistics revolution. The future development direction of military packaging will affect the success or failure of this military logistics revolution to a certain extent
I. military material transportation is developing towards containerization and matching.
as early as the Second World War, the US military used palletized packaging to transport ammunition and other materials. Palletized and containerized packaging has been greatly developed after the second world war because of its high efficiency, convenient management and use, suitable for air delivery, air transportation and cost saving. The packaging of 105mm tank ammunition of the US Army is to fix 30 or 35 metal packaging barrels on a metal pallet to form a reusable unit packaging. One unit package can be used for one-time loading of a tank. When loading, just open the metal end cover to take out the shells, and the ammunition feeder will automatically feed the shells into the tank, which is very convenient. In the military logistics revolution carried out by the US Army in recent years, major general Norman Williams, deputy chief of staff of the Logistics Department of the US Army, proposed to "replace the quantitative logistics system with the speed logistics system", that is, the containerized transportation of materials will develop in the direction of supporting. Guided by this idea, the U.S. military has improved the original palletized loading system, greatly improving its communication and information processing capabilities, so that the modified loading system has the supporting transportation and all-weather combat capabilities
the transportation of military materials in our army started late and developed slowly. In the past decades, the transformation from shoulder to hand to basic mechanization has just been completed in the transportation and packaging of military products. Due to the high cost of palletized and containerized packaging, and the need for special equipment for the handling and loading and unloading of containerized materials, the scope and location of its application are limited, and it is not widely used in our army. Therefore, we should seize the opportunity of the logistics information revolution, strive to achieve a qualitative leap in the level of military packaging, and quickly improve the degree of containerization and matching of our military material packaging
in addition to improving the level of military material containerization and developing a containerized packaging system suitable for our military material transportation, we should also pay attention to the supporting and networking of the transportation system, and finally transform the logistics from a supply based system that relies on a large amount of inventory to a computer-based system that relies on distribution
II. Pay attention to the development and application of new packaging technologies and materials
nanotechnology and nano materials are the most widely used high technologies in the packaging field abroad. Nanotechnology enables packaging materials to have a variety of ultra-high physical and chemical properties, which is of epoch-making significance in improving packaging functions. In terms of explosion-proof packaging, the United States took the lead in testing the explosion-proof packaging of detonators in the 1980s, and then carried out a series of studies on the explosion-proof packaging of explosives. The U.S. military has successfully developed an explosion-proof packaging material filled in containers for packaging explosives. The material 1 must be kept clean; It is a kind of composite material mixed with adhesive. It can be cast. It has the characteristics of light weight, porous, absorbing dynamic shock wave and shock absorption. After the material is filled into the packaging container, it can not only prevent the explosives in the container from exploding, but also prevent the explosives in other adjacent containers from exploding; The UK has developed a kind of double-function coating which combines the anti-corrosion and lubrication functions organically and mainly consists of molybdenum disulfide and molybdic acid. The coating can overcome the shortcomings of traditional methods, and has anti-corrosion and lubrication functions, so that the friction between the projectile and the barrel can be reduced, and the ballistic velocity and firing accuracy can be improved
modern war has developed from three-dimensional land, sea and air war to four-dimensional and five-dimensional war. In order to meet the needs of material protection under the conditions of modern war, the armies of various countries continue to develop and utilize new technologies and materials and apply them to military packaging. In the coming period, military packaging will further develop in intelligent packaging, explosion-proof packaging, ultra-high function packaging, anti-static packaging, anti electromagnetic packaging, anti infrared packaging, anti radiation packaging, nanotechnology and nano materials
III. information technology will be widely used in military packaging
the information system of the new era will provide logistics personnel with synchronous and accurate battlefield pictures, so that logistics personnel have the advantage of tactical information
with the rapid development of information technology, the combination of information and logistics technology is an inevitable trend. The application of two-dimensional and even three-dimensional bar code, radio frequency technology and other information technologies in the field of military packaging has greatly strengthened the transparency of inner packaging, improved the rapid response ability, and made the material management more simple and easy. In Bosnia, in order to speed up the flow of supplies, strategic packaging, radio frequency tags, transport tracking systems and automated waybill system cards were used. The use of the transport coordinator automated transport information system, coupled with the application of two-dimensional bar codes, has greatly enhanced material deployment activities in Bosnia. The use of radio frequency tags and fixed or hand-held interrogators has had a significant effect on material tracking. In the Gulf War, the US Army developed an automated manifest system. The system uses the laser memory card as the database storage medium to provide detailed information about the materials contained in the containers, so as to help the U.S. military quickly transfer thousands of sea containers and air pallets piled up in ports and airports to their destinations
the logistics informatization construction of our army began to explore as early as several years ago. For example, the two-dimensional bar code management system developed starting from the construction of a visual warehouse, the coordination of some military supplies by using the visual system, the Shanghai Bank jointly run with local financial institutions, and the military and local oil supply network system. These works are the basis for our army to realize packaging informatization. However, it is possible to improve the level of packaging informatization from different angles. We should vigorously develop and utilize information technology, including the use of laser memory cards, RFID tags, smart cards, bar codes and other technologies. Only in this way can we master the material information in time, and the material distribution based on packaging can shorten the material support time, improve the response speed of packaged materials, and make the material support change from passive response to predictable use of materials to draw the experimental curve source in real time
